New Firefox Installed but my screen flashes when I open Firefox then all I see is my desktop. Why is this? How do I see this?

I click the Firefox icon and the browser just flashes on my screen then I see nothing. But the icon in the task bar indicates Firefox is open and I can even close Firefox from the task bar but I can't see anything on my screen but my desktop.
