Trying to install after removing Firefox due to adware and get the Missing Profile warning but firefox.exe -P yields the same, no create box
Am trying to reinstall Firefox after removing it due to adware. Although it is apparently installed and I have the icon, when I try to start it I get the "profile is missing" box stating "Your Firefox profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." Have tried to run firefox.exe -P but instead of getting the create box I just get the same Profile is Missing box. Looks like the same problem someone else has but I couldn't contribute to that thread because I didn't have an account. Had to start a new question to get an account. I have Windows 10 and have been using Firefox.

Problem is solved !!!
Even though I uninstalled and reinstalled and system restarted several times, nothing worked and system remained loaded but only partially installed and everything I did yielded a No Profile or No Access notice, Did not work last night when I quit.
Today it works !!!. I guess it just needed another restart or maybe a separate system close and restart, but all seems to be ok now.
Thanks Pkshadow for your input, lots of info there.

I noticed that the Mozilla folder in appdata/roaming is read only and I can't open it. Can't see any sub folders. Properties indicate 0 contents.
Should not remove Firefox but run proper adware programs. fyi : https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-firefox-issues-caused-malware and https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/ and https://forums.malwarebytes.com/topic/9573-im-infected-what-do-i-do-now/

That's all I have. See if can make something work out of the above. If not after maybe someone around later with command line experience and further knowledge.
Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.
Thanks for your post and the references. I think the malware may be gone, I did run Malwarebytes, but can't check because can't run Firefox. None of the directions to run the Profile Manager work because when I try I get the Missing Profile warning again or a Windows can't access the path notification. I uninstalled Firefox and deleted the Firefox files also. I believe the lock on the Mozilla folder may be the problem. It is read only and won't let me open it. The folder properties show no content. Thanks again for your response
