Can other users on my computer see my mails on Thunderbird from their accounts?

I just have a query before I start using Thunderbird.

My dad has a user account(the ones we choose from at the log-in/ log-on screen after boot) on my computer. If I install Thunderbird, will he be able to access my emails while being logged in on his account?

Thunderbird's data store is about as private as any other aspect of your User Account in Windows.

Is your User Account encrypted and protected by a password? If, not then another user with appropriate privileges could browse to your personal files and read any of them, including Thunderbird's data store.

Thunderbird does not encrypt your email data. Some of it may be hard to read, but the only safe assumption to make is that if others can access it they can read it.

By Password protection, if you mean that windows ask for a password when logging in to my account, then yes, I have got that.

I am not quite clear about that encryption on the account.
