When I have read a message can I move on to the next message without closing the existing one?

I have recently switched to Thunderbird from EMClient. In EMClient I was able to move on to the next or previous message by clicking on an up/down arrow. Is this available in Thunderbird?

Whoops.....I was a bit hasty, I have now found the answer to my question by customizing the toolbar.
