This is a very specific crash. Probably related to my previous post on crashing everything.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1169327

The rate at whole system crashes has more or less stayed the same but this is a new glitch.

Recently Amazon crashes (a tab only, therefore no error report) on first keystroke on the password field. EVERY TIME Same goes on Facebook, the tab, and only the tab crashes on load if the messenger app is opened. Only happens with messenger open.

Since this is a tab crash, I can't see reports. If you want to see the settings I run, look at the link above, nothing has changed except running sudo apt-get dist-update.

Thanks

Hello, as explained in your other post, I recommend you to download an ESR version from the official Mozilla website and give us a feedback about these tests. https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/all/

Looks like the Linux file libc-2.23.so is crashing which causes Firefox to crash.. All things have looked at say use ESR. Also https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/your-hardware-no-longer-supported

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

ESR doesn't help. The crash links provided shown are from ESR.

This computer is a Core™ i7 CPU Q 820. That makes it plenty newer than a Pentium 4.

Correct
The crash links provided shown are from ESR.
But it is a Linux File Crashing.
This computer is a Core™ i7 CPU Q 820.

I would not know as you have un-ticked send information to Mozilla. In crash report shows family 6 model 30 stepping 5 | 8 and I am not about to look that up.

Since tour a I7 uninstall Firefox, delete folders install a registry cleaner and clean. Then install version 56.0.1 https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/

You need to make some decisions and ask what can be done for this, this or this. We can not keep guessing any longer what you wish to do or want to do.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Try the Firefox version from the official Mozilla server if you currently use a version from the repositories of your Linux distribution.
