Promote sub folder to main folder

One of my e-mail folders 'disappeared'. I eventually found it as a sub folder of the folder that originally preceded it.

I want to promote this sub folder back to where it belongs. I tried dragging and dropping it but it didn't work.

I know I have fixed this sort of thing before but?

Thanks

Chosen Solution

Create a new folder with the desired name at the hierarchy level you want. Then copy messages from the sub-folder to the newly created folder. Select the messages to be copied in the sub-folder - Right-click a selected message - Copy To, and choose the newly created folder as destination.

Once all messages have been copied successfully, delete the sub-folder.
