does the share unction ever send as if if were a screen shot or just the link to the page.

I don't use the Share feature but it seems in a quick test to be only sending a link. If you want to send a screenshot or the content of the article, I think you would need to add that to the message yourself.

Can you be more specific, or rather, are you referring to the Gmail share option when activated as shown here?

I order to keep the menu bar open at all times, you can press F10 (or Alt) once, then choose View > Toolbars > Menu Bar. This can also be done in the bottom left of the Customize window/page.

I use foxfire as my default browser and have set the contents to use gmail as default email. I activated the gmail share option you show above and it still will not work. However yr solution to keeping the menu bar open works but would like the share function to work since Mozilla offers it

What happens when you click the Share button? I get a panel with additional choices, but i can click the M icon to display a Gmail screen, as shown in the first attached screenshot.

Clicking SIGN IN opens a separate tab to sign in, and I have to hide the Share panel to access the form. Once that settles down, I can go back to the page I want to share, click the buttons, and a little Google loading display appears in the drop-panel, then the compose form, as shown in the second attached screenshot.

This seems slower than the "old" way, which was to click the Email Link button.

Where is yours breaking down?

When I click the share button a small window appears with the icons for the following: an envelope which is for Yahoo. F for Facebook. Google +, IN. Tumbler and twitter and below that view more. I locate gmail and activate it. I don't know what is going but now it wants to work. I agree with you and hope will pas this to Mozilla the email link from the file menu is much faster. Because when you share a page you have to go back to gmail.com to sing off. does the share unction ever send as if if were a screen shot or just the link to the page.

Thank you for you for your answers. Please let yr partners at Mozilla know the "email link" from the drop down file menu is much easier and faster and never fails. As you well know you have to keep the menu bar at the top of the browser screen,

Sadly, they're not my partners; I'm not sure I have any sway. But, did you know:

If you prefer a button for Email Link, check the "Customize" panel for an envelope icon. I'm attaching a screenshot for reference. Can you find that one?

Ref. Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars

I saw that before and tried it but in order to mail a link with out manually copying and pasting like the email link from the file menu one last question do u where to send feed back directly to foxfire

The Email Link button should do the same thing as File > Email Link.

Anyway, you can give feedback here:
