Firefox 55 will not open on 32bit machines

Posted

Hi I have quite a few users reporting that Firefox 55 will not open but 54 and before work fine.

55 when opened just opens a process and the memory usage is around 44,00kb and doesn't change as if loading is not happening this reoccurs after clean install of FF and has occurred on about 7 user PC's all are on win 7 32 bit, I presume the updateto 55 ran and they did not notice it was running.

Note: V55 has been giving users problems. Reinstall v54.

https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/install-older-version-of-firefox?cache=no Be sure to read everything here.

If you still want to downgrade, look under; I still want to downgrade. Click the Directory of other versions and languages link. Look for the directory of the version that you want. But, remember that old versions may have security issues.

You should also check out Firefox; Extended Support Release https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/ https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/notes/ https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/organizations/system-requirements/

Hi thanks for reply I have already rolled back to 54 with no issues but am not very happy to have to turn updates of for all users and keep them on v54 long term.

Also I can see this happens on v 56 too.
