Where does email go if it is in junk folder and I mark it as Not Junk? Not in inbox or trash.

When email has been sent to Junk folder automatically and I mark it as Not Junk, where does it go? I have looked in the Inbox and Trash folders but it's not there. I have tried right clicking on the email in the Junk Folder and clicking on the Move To option. I then click on Inbox. It simply disappears no matter if I use Not Junk or Move To. Sometimes it can be something that I need to retain.

in my case it goes to the inbox. usually a page or two down as I don't check my spam folder as often as I probably should.
