that error is almost always the result of outgoing email scanning. Does you anti virus do this?

I dont think so. There is something with the SMTP settings which I cant figure out. I have gmail, I attach the file of the settings..

My gmail SMTP is on port 587. But I have not changed those settings in years.

Thanks, but I have already tried both and nothing....

It all started when I installed anew in a new computer. I think I'll try to copy the old settings from the old appdata...

...which I did and it works now. The settings are like you guys suggested so the problem is somewhere else, probably on the certificate part...
