all my newer emails gone after upgrading
I restarted TB after this current upgrade and it couldn't find the profile--found the drive letter was changed in profile.ini (I DID NOT DO THIS). My profile is on a different drive from TB. It also had trouble shutting down for the upgrade.
After that fix, all my emails from the last eight months are gone, including new sub-folders I created (there was a gap using TB where I used my web acct instead). It looks like TB reverted back to the pre-gap point, everything I've done since using it again (10/16) is gone. I also noticed the modification dates on the various email files are from 2015/2016--they should be current. This is a single profile composed of three POP3 accounts, all are affected.
I also noticed along with the .msf files are .msfx and .msfx.msf extensions for the same email files (I cannot find what .msfx is). They also all appear as folders in TB (they weren't there before), and are all empty.
I've done several things to repair, such as;
using the Repair Folder option--ineffective; erasing the .msf/.msfx/.msfx.msf files and restarting--also ineffective; They ALL come back starting in safe-mode--ineffective.
I really need some of these emails back...Thank you.
PS: a second ongoing issue is the regular freezing of TB. Every 60-120 seconds it stops for 10-15 seconds--I get the busy circle, 'not responding' in the header bar, and nothing works. This has been happening for the past several years/versions of TB, even when I was using Vista. It happens in safe-mode too. I've tried different settings on AV, modifying settings in TB--nothing works. This has been a constant annoyance.

the .msfx extensions are of particular alarm. That extension ( namely the .msfx) is common to Metasploit-framework. Are you pen-testing your server?
Also LookOut changelog is indicative of being SEVERELY outdated to the point of abandonware ( latest on changelog shows TB7 ( 52 is current stable) Try removing/disabling that one and same advice for ThunderPlunger ( which seems like it is not only equally outdated, is doing the plunging way too well, without user awareness no less.
So in recap disable/remove BOTH ThunderPlunger AND LookOut as they are severely outdated.
Also, check the server ( contact the tech/admin person(s) if it's not your server and ask about recent use/testing with MSF (Metasploit-Framework) On the server.
And with regard to the drive letter issue, is the disk the same content and just re-mapped? or is it totally foreign/new?
Thank you for your reply.
I'm not performing any pen-testing. My ISP (Cox) said they are doing some migration and revamping of their email system, but said the .msfx issues isn't their doing. Their issues revolve around bad server settings within TB.
I did remove Plunger and LookOut--no effect. Are my emails gone?
The drive letter was remapped when I built my current computer. It was the C drive of my old computer (now G). I just altered profile.ini to point to it. TB is on new C (SSD), profile is on G. It was working properly until this issue.
