List of local folders disappeared without my deleting them

List of local folders disappeared without my deleting them

Chosen solution

Check the quarantine in your antivirus program.

You can check for the files on the hard drive for the Local Folders, to see if they are there:

Find & open your Thunderbird Profile folder:

Select Help: Troubleshooting Information from the Thunderbird menu (either from the menu button, on the top right, or the normal menu at the top of the window.)

Under "Application Basics", beside "Profile Folder", click the "Show Profile" button.  This will open a window showing the contents of your Thunderbird Profile folder.

In the Thunderbird Profile folder, open the folder called Mail. In that folder will be a folder called Local Folders.

Thank you so much for the information. Sorry for the delay in responding but hadn't checked my e-mail for awhile. Your answer to my question was helpful I still wish I had the folders actually listed on the left side of the page under Local Folders without having to go through the "extra" procedure. Thank you, Bruce. Really appreciate your help.

You say those folders are still missing. Did you check your antivirus quarantine like I suggested? If they are quarantined, then you can un-quarantine them to reinstate them.

Hello Bruce, Once again I thank you for your assistance. I am not too knowledgeable about Computers but I did find out that my Folders are not quarantined. As long as I can access them, I can deal with them not being individually listed on the left side of my Thunderbird e-mail page. Thanks again. Barbara
