Can't manually delete cookies in 'Privacy > Show cookies > click on individual cookie > Remove Selected > doesn't remove and often same cookie multiplies
I often clear certain cookies from my Lenovo Z570 laptop. Click on the 3 bars > options > Privacy > show cookies > one at a time click on cookie > remove selected and things have been good. But yesterday I visited a machine shop and I cannot delete their cookie (mscdirect.com) (msc direct is the name of the company). It'll disappear momentarily and then come back, maybe somewhere else in the column. Sometimes it'll start multiplying with 2 or 3 of the same cookie coming back. I've even clicked on 'Remove All' and every cookie disappears but this same one. Sometimes another cookie shows up, such as YouTube and I haven't used You Tube for several days and their cookie was previously deleted that evening.
I've read something about a possible corrupted file (I have Firefox and Waterfox downloaded) and I completely deleted both of them and their respective task bar buttons and reinstalled but the cookie problem came back also. I've ran Malwarebytes a couple of times and it shows not finding anything.
Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks for your time and response, Jeff

Note that if you change cookie settings then you need to clear existing cookies as changes are only applied to newly created cookies.
You can use an extension to get Private Browsing mode support per tab.
Private Browsing mode tabs get a dashed underline You can toggle Private Browsing mode on/off via the right-click context menu of a tab
In PB mode you have the same cookie settings and exceptions active as in regular mode, you only have a separate cookie jar that stores the cookies.

You may have a corrupt cookies.sqlite file. Delete cookies.sqlite + cookies.sqlite.old + cookies.sqlite-shm + cookies.sqlite-wal
Type about:support<enter> in the address bar.
Under the page logo on the left side, you will see Application Basics. Under this find Profile Folder. To its right press the button Show Folder. This will open your file browser to the current Firefox profile. Now Close Firefox.
Locate the above file. Then rename or delete it. Restart Firefox.
Also make sure that you do non run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode (Always use Private Browsing mode; Never Remember History).
You can also check the cookies in the #Storage Inspector.
The #Storage Inspector has items in the right-click context menu to delete some or all cookies.

FredMcD and cor-el, I'm still not sure what happened or why, but earlier I went to the privacy page and changed the settings from 'Never accept' third party cookies to 'Always' accept and ran it like that for hours. Then went back and deleted all cookies and set the back to 'Never' accept third party cookies and everything is is back to what it had been doing before.
I've never had Private browsing permanently set, but often 'click' to go to private browsing in a Private window instead.
But changing the saving cookies setting from one setting to another and back again doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe someone can make some sense out of this though.
Thanks for the replies!
That was very good work. Well done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so others will know.
