how do I add a NEXT message button to the message window

When I double click an email in the inbox and it opens in a separate window, how can I add NEXT button to go to the next message. I don't see that option when I "customize". I have a delete button which goes on to the next message but if I don't want to delete it and go on I have no option.

There most definitely a Next button when selecting Customize for the Mail Toolbar. Are you right clicking the Mail Toolbar? It has Get Messages, Write and Address Book on it.

OK I wasn't clicking "tool bar". I was clicking the message header where it has the reply, forward, archive, junk, delete etc.
