Why Can't Email Rules Be Made Simpler to Do?
Would be nice if you could just right-click on an email and either make/add a rule quickly and get it put in a new folder using rule made for it. After the rule is made, it would be nice to search all emails for emails that match the rule made and put them in correct folder. Also, nice to be able to do this instead of the long process of present rule making, i.e., clicking "Display the Thunderbird Menu" then "Message Filters".
Allowing more rules for similar emails and allowing several options for "either"s/"or"s/"and"s to give some flexibility for emails that may not use same "from", "to", "subject" or "body" wording/content should you want to organize these emails in the same folder.
There have been lots of email addresses that are from same website address, but may be slightly different because the site sends out something like: newsletter@samesite.com, e.updates@samesite.com, no-reply@samesite.com or e.blah-blah@samesite.com. All these should go in the same folder for samesite.com under 1 rule that covers all possibilities from samesite.com.
I just think it would be easier to have a pop-up window where rule could be made and named then having to move mouse and click more than necessarily outside of where emails are located. Just my opinion and suggestion as it is mostly why I don't use Thunderbird as much as other more efficient email programs. Granted Thunderbird does a lot of stuff, but I just want to organize my emails faster since I may have several hundred of them.

Give the addon quickFilters a try. It has a "quickFilters Assistant" that helps create filters quickly on the fly.
In the Message Filters window, at the bottom you should see "Run selected filter(s) on:", and it will say the current folder you were looking at in the main window, and a "Run Now" button.
You can also add a "Run Filters" button to the toolbar, which when clicked, will run all filters on the current folder you are looking at.

You will need to give an example for what you mean. Here is my example for what I think you mean.
Example: E-mails may contain "loan" or "loans" in the subject line. 1. Select "Match any of the following". 2. First condition line contains, "Subject contains loan". Add a second condition line by clicking on the plus sign at the right, and have it as "Subject contains loans"

That is simple. Condition line should be "From contains samesite.com"

The mentioned add-on can help with this.
