Please check to see if you need to subscribe to see those folders. Right click on imap mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Subscribe' Select folders and click on 'Subscribe'. click on OK

Did this work?

I have tried to subscribe but it doesn't show any folders except the inbox, trash, sent.

I presume those folders were not actually listed, so could not select to subscribe. Try this: Right click on imap mail account in Folder Pane and select 'Settings' select 'Server settings' click on 'Advanced' button

uncheck: 'Show only subscribed folders' click on OK

Did this get the folders back or at least allow you select to subscribe ?

I am new to Thunderbird and am having this problem. I created subfolders under the Inbox and used to be able to see each subfolder when I signed into Thunderbird. Now I cannot see any of the subfolders but they are still there (tested this by searching for a word and the results both showed emails in these subfolders and allowed me to access the emails). I have tried the steps listed above but they did not work for me (i.e., still cannot see the subfolders in the Inbox). Any other suggestions for being able to see the subfolders again? Thanks.

It would be better to start a new thread.

However, can you post a screenshot?

If this works, here is a screen shot. I used to be able to see the subfolders under the Inbox heading. If you want a different screenshot just let me know.

Should I start a new thread or continue with this?

Thanks.

OK, see those little arrows? They are sometimes called "twisties".

The little ˃ next to Inbox tells us that there is one or more subfolders but they are collapsed. Click on the ˃, or double-click on the word Inbox and it should expand to show the subfolder(s).

Where you see a downward pointing arrow, like a ˅, it is already expanded.

The appearance of these expand/collapse twisties varies between operating systems, themes etc. Here in Thunderbird I have + and - symbols. They are often presented as solid triangles like these: ►▼, notably on Android systems.

Thank you! That worked; such an easy 'fix!" I feel dumb, but I am learning!
