I am trying to create and change Signatures. The only fully working signature i have is out of date, created on a very old version of T'birf many years ago and the image vanished from the Signature some time back and i am only left with a placeholder. When I create or modify my signatures i click on File/Save As/File... & Nothing happens! I get nothing. No option for file location, no option to save as any type. The screen remains the same. I have looked in my mail.default folder and there are files created at the approximate time i do this: panacea.dat localstore.rdf prefs.js but no html signature file. If i modify an existing signature clicking Save As or Save does not update the signature file. Recreating the signature with MS Word does not keep the image, either.

I have just done an upgrade to the latest version of Thunderbird and that seems to have cured the problem. Strange as i have been using Mozilla since the first version. The Save As dialogue box vanished so many versions ago and has now come back. Oh, Well. Thanks for the help.

lets look at this with a clean slate.

Hold shift while starting Thunderbird and continue in safe mode when prompted.

Now do you get a dialog to save as?
