Help! I am getting a message saying that the inbox is full. "The folder Inbox is full, and can't hold any more messages. To make room for more messages, delete any old or unwanted mail and compact the folder." I have either deleted or archived off to a local folder more than 2/3 of the messages in the inbox. I am still receiving the message and I am unable to download any new messages. I have other email accounts with more messages in the inbox and I don't have any problems with them. I have tried: 1. Deleting messages. 2. Archiving messages to a local folder. 3. Deleting and reinstalling Thunderbird. Nothing has worked. Please help.

Why on earth do people leave old messages in the Inbox? How do you find new stuff among the old?

Have you compacted this Inbox yet? If you haven't, I suggest you move everything out of it to a new folder, then compact the Inbox.
