Why does Insert Symbols and Characters not work after upgrade?
I need to use international characters in my emails. After the last upgrade, the menu does not open anymore.

I ask because this is working in both my Thunderbirds, on Windows 7 and Linux, so the feature hasn't been deliberately taken away.
Possibly your pop-up dialogue is appearing but is reduced to zero size or is off-screen. Running in Safe Mode would disable a file that stores window sizes and positions.

What does that mean? No menu? There is a menu but it doesn't have the insert option? Or you have an insert option but it doesn't work as expected?
I have the "Insert" option, but when I go down to "Characters and Symbols," there is no drop-down menu from which to choose the international characters. Thus, the insert option does notwork as expected.
