Mouse makes a clicking sound on rollover of buttons
My mouse has started generating a clicking sound when it rolls over any buttons. I have searched but cannot find a way to turn this off other than muting the computer. Any ideas please. (Mac user)

Thank you for your attention. There are no extensions and only shockwave active as an add-on.
When I went back to thunderbird just now the clicking was gone. One of those bizarre things that happens I guess.

How is this related to Thunderbird?
What applications are affected? If it's only Thunderbird, do you want to check whether you've acquired any weird add-ons?
Thunderbird is the only application affected. There are no new addons.
