Would like to add DuckDuckGo as my search engine in Thunderbird. I read all posts on the web pertaining to this issue and none of the solutions are working, in fact some are contradictory.

Chosen solution

Thunderbird redirects all external searches to the default browser.

In case of Google Search there is an add-on for Thunderbird. You'd need to look for an add-on that adds DuckDuckGo to the list of search engines in Thunderbird.

Any external searches would then open in your default browser using DuckDuckGo.

Whether such an add-on exists I don't know.

Thanks for the reply. I found a slightly convoluted solution and it works.

PS: Why would TB NOT list DDG as a valid search engine?
