since mid-2015, has TB changed how it stores messages in MBOX and or it constructs the dotMSF index files? Problem using opernic Desktop Search (CDS)
I'm using the latest versions of TB (45.4.0) and Copernic Desktop Search (CDS) 5.2.1.
Before July 2015, TB and CDS played nicely together.
In July 2015 I upgraded/updated to from CDS 4.x to 5.x (and if at that time there were updates to TB, updated in every case.
By August 2015, CDS was no longer indexed new emails, although I could see and read those emails in TB.
So I figured that one of three things had happened: 1. I had changed how I used my system. 2. CDS had changed how it worked with a TB that had not changed how it handles/stored emails, so broke itself. 3. TB had changed how it handled.stored emails and so broke CDS. 4. A bit of 2 and 3 had occurred, and possibly some of 1. I realise that I am ignoring the possibility of damage to TB/CDS mating by Microsoft updates to my W-7 installation--which is also maintained up to date.
I contacted Copernic and after a month of back and forth, they said their techies would need more time. Within the past week I've reminded them I'm still waiting for an answer, and the replied saying in essence they have no idea what the problem is and perhaps their next update will fix the issue.
I now want to try working backwards to a time when TB and CDS worked well together. I ask my question, because in my non-techi mind, if the handling and storing and indexing of emails in MBOXs has not changed, then I can focus solely on attempting to get copies of earlier versions of CDS from the first half of 2015. But if MBOX usage has changed, then I would also want to get whatever version of TB was current in the first half of 2015.
What would I like? Any info on the relationship between TB and CDS; an answer to my primary question; and, a download link to the version of TB that was current in June 2015.
TIA for your information and assistance.
Ciao,
Doug

AFAIK, the short answer is no.
Shouldn't CDS techs know the answer, if they are providing the functionality?

Thanks for the reply Wayne. Your information suggests that the problem does lie with Copernic.
CDS is being very coy about admitting that the problem does lie with them. Perhaps they are aware because they have supplied me with a link to the last V4.x version (it's V5.x that's causing me a problem) that worked fine, and they're asking me to hold on for the next update that is expected within a few months.
