thunderbird deleting extremely slow (locked)

Sometimes works ok, mostly thunderbird deletion of e-mail reaaly slow and some times I get a thunderbird not responding message.

Also archieve doesn`t work. Anything archieved is launch into cyberspace never to be seen again.

Try to start Windows in safe mode with networking enabled. - Win10 https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/12376/windows-10-start-your-pc-in-safe-mode

Still in Windows safe mode, start Thunderbird in safe mode. - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/safe-mode

Does the problem go away?

I couldn`t get it to fail in safe mode. I have a dell desktop 8g ram and 1t disk. I`m running win.10 with ann. update. I guess it`s just a matter of shutting down programs till I fine the one. I noticed on restart that 2 apps. were running in the background. One stopped and the other was some windows app.

Archive still doesn`t work.
