Every time I turn on my laptop it opens this site - http://zodiac-game.info/newpager.html

I have checked through the following:

the registry, homepage options, command line on the shortcut and browsed through the about: config to only be confused as what I needed to look for there. I even tried checking my laptop startup options.

I cannot seem to find how this page keep loading at bootup, Microsoft gives me the usual runaround of did you do this, well we need this before we can be sure what to do.

You may have ad / mal-ware. Further information can be found in the Troubleshoot Firefox issues caused by malware article.

Run most or all of the listed malware scanners. Each works differently. If one program misses something, another may pick it up.

Does it open with your home page, or as your home page?

Type about:preferences#general<enter> in the address bar.

There are two settings;

  • When Firefox Starts

When the browser is started, what do you want to display? Many of us choose Show My Home Page.

  • Home Page

When a new page is opened, what do you want to be displayed?

  1. Use Current Page. Use what ever page(s) are open at that time.
  2. Use Bookmark
  3. Restore To Default. about:home shows a Mozilla home page with tools.

You can use any of these that you wish;

about:home (Firefox default home page), about:newtab (shows the sites most visited), about:blank (a blank page),

or you can enter any webpage or about: page you want.

I had ran Advanced system Care's malware option as well as wise registry cleaners' before realizing I had a response, will try Malware Bytes tomorrow if it happens at bootup again. Thanks for the advice, will give thanks accordingly tomorrow.

Malwarebytes only found one file in HKU/S-1-5-21-2276527655-4194847266-2253824178-1001\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\RUN|redhead

I removed it and that fixed the problem.

Thought i would post it for others. :) Thanks to FredMcD for mentioning Malware Bytes.

Glad to help. Safe Surfing.
