If it is a password for your email account then you will have to contact your email provider to get help to recover your password !

this could be caused a by a few things.
1. Make sure you have logged onto your webmail account using a browser and selected either POP or IMAP forwarding. Sometimes they are auto selected, but worth checking. This is also a good method of checking your password does work. If you cannot logon to webmail, then first check your keyboard does not have the 'Caps Lock' key selected. If still no joy then you would need to use the 'Forgotten Password' or similar link to gain access to webmail account and reset Password.
2. Make sure Thunderbird program is not being blocked by your Firewall. It should be listed and set to 'Allow'. Your Firewall may be part of your Anti-Virus package.
I presume you are setting up a new existing mail account. In Thunderbird 'Menu icon' > 'New Message' > 'Existing mail account'
- Enter name
- Enter full email address
- Enter password - same one you use to access the webmail account.
- click on 'Continue' button
Thunderbird tries to locate configuration details. Make sure the type of mail account is correct - POP or IMAP - must be the same as you have selected in webmail account.
You can use the 'Manual Config' button to manually adjust settings. User Name will usually be your full email address.
