someone impersonating mozilla
I thought you'd want to know so that maybe you can do something about this.

This page opened a tab for itself and is claiming to be Mozilla and that I need an update, but they are clearly a spam site given the first word in their url. I don't know if you can give them a cease and desist order, but I thought you'd want to know that they are targeting users of Firefox.
I took a screenshot, but decided not to save it on the off-chance that it would introduce malware to my system (don't know how this works, better safe than sorry). But the url should probably load when you try to use it so you can see what I'm talking about for yourself. Mozilla, for its part, tossed me a pop-up to warn that someone was trying to infect me with malware. Good on you, Firefox. But I just wanted to pass this along so you guys can know that someone is imitating you and targeting users.

See the screenshot.
That is a fake Firefox update notification. People who use uBlock Origin don't get that fake update screen. I had to shut down uBO to even see that page I grabbed the screenshot of. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/ublock-origin/
That spreific URL has been reported via Help > Report deceptive website ... so that it is added to the Safe Browsing blocklist. But the character who is doing that is changing URL's so often it's become like a game of "whack-a-mole" - kill one URL and another appears.
Mozilla is working on a solution.

Thanks for the quick replies edmeister and James. You guys rule. I'm glad you're aware of this. I figured you would be but I just wanted to be sure. I hope you can find a way to get these guys. I can totally see them targeting older people and noobs alike and who knows what they do to the computers of their victims....
OK, so I am an old lady... I have a hard time seeing let alone figuring who is you & who is pretending to be you. So what am I to do????
