how do I get the universal inbox back? Lost after update....
Earlier version had a universal inbox that let me see all the email accounts in one inbox--- how do I get that back? Thanks

You need to set up every account to use POP (the default is IMAP) and set each account individually to use the Global Inbox.
An alternative, which many users seem to be happy with, is to use IMAP but set it to Unified Folders view which collates all messages from the individual Inboxes and displays then in a collective virtual Inbox. It does the same for other standard folders such as Trash, Sent and Junk.
Try Unified Folders first. It's easy to set up and use. The Global Inbox method may require that you remove and reinstall accounts.

This morning I attempted to rename a folder and accidentally renamed the Unified Inbox so I can't see it anymore. Is it possible to get it back? TIA Ken
I deleted the renamed folder from the "smart mailboxes" folder and now all the emails can be seen via "Inbox" BUT the renamed folder keeps coming back and is listed as "Unified Folders" under Inbox. It works ok but would be nice to get rid of that "Unified Folders" if I can...
