How do I stop picture attachments being sent as actual pictures below the mail text ? I just want to send the file as xxxxxx.jpg
I used to have this with Outlook Express but can't remember how to stop it.
Chosen solution
Your problem is that many email clients choose to display certain attachments. Images and text files are examples of attachments that may be shown automatically.
A recipient using Thunderbird would be able to stop this happening. Go to View in the menu and clear the checkbox "Display attachments inline". Note that this is a setting for the recipient, not the sender. I certainly can't comment on what other email clients do or can do.
The approach that comes first to mind for sending pictures that wouldn't be displayed would be to zip them and attach the zip file. But be aware that some email services may refuse zipped attachments.
