Thunderbird loses cursor point

A weird glitch with Thunderbird, not fixed in latest version 45. Sometimes when typing an email, Thunderbird loses the cursor point. Ie, when I click in a certain place & start typing, it inserts the typing in a different place & no matter how I try to get it to insert at my desired point, it keeps inserting it somewhere else. This glitch needs fixing!

yep, been around since Version 1 of Firefox. That gives some clue how important Mozilla see it.
