Want to change default line spacing for composition
Recently, the default for composition changed from "Body Text" to "Paragraph." The latter causes 2 lines every time you hit return. I want only ONE line each time I hit return. I can change it manually, but only AFTER I start typing something -- then I have to go BACK and manually make the change. That sucks. I want "Body Text" to be the default, but cannot find where to change the line spacing default. It's VERY annoying.
I see other people are complaining about the same problem, but only getting answers about how to make the change manually each time. I want to change the default and not have to change it manually every time I write an e-mail.

Currently, 'Paragraph' is now set as default and when you press 'Enter' it means 'double space'; you see a new line with no indentation.
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/new-thunderbird-45 quote from the link: The Thunderbird composition window now functions more like a word processor in that pressing the "Enter" key inserts a new paragraph, pressing "Shift+Enter" inserts a new line. This new behavior can be switched off in the Tools > Options > Composition > General tab.
If you want to remove this default setting and go back to the Body Text set as default do this:
To change this to auto select 'Body Text' and 'Enter' means a go to next line: Either Via 'Menu Bar' 'Tools' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > 'General' tab
OR via 'Mail Toolbar' 'Menu icon' > 'Options' > 'Options' > 'Composition' > 'General' tab
uncheck 'when using paragraph format, the enter key creates a new paragraph.' click on OK
Open a new Write message and you will now see 'Paragraph' has been removed as default and it will show 'Body Text' as default just like it was in prior versions.
