how do we back up all of our email correspondence and addresses on drop box

We recently lost all email addresses etc. on our thunderbird account and to prevent that from happening again we would like to backup all correspondence etc. on new computer to drop box. How do we do this?

This add-on has a backup option 

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/importexporttools/

Or you could just periodically copy the contents of appdata\remote\Thunderbird occasionally to drop box. What you may find is that the data to be backed up far exceeds your drop box quota. I would suggest a simple USN drive plugged into a local computer port
