How do I turn on SMTP AUTHENTICATION. Emails sent to Hotmail won't go through.
Apparently if my SMTP AUTHENTICATION is on this prob goes away. Help

How did you get to having a Hotmail account set up without authentication? Hotmail has had authentication for as long as I can remember so it's not a recent change. Thunderbird would have worked this out for itself if the account were set up the usual way.
Go to Tools|Account Settings. Scroll down the list of accounts to the last one, "Outgoing server (SMTP)", select it.
A list of the SMTP servers set up in Thunderbird appears at the right. Select your hotmail account there, select it and click "Edit".
