Was not able to open any hyperlinks from incoming emails. Tried to fix it as per the configuration editor like Thunderbird indicated. Now I can not open it at all. Have tried reloading without deleting everything and tried reloading after changing file name so system did not recognize Thunderbird. Still crashes before it opens.

Ok, so what were the crash ids that were sent so we can have a look at what the actual cause was? It would be far better to know what was the issue that just going back in time and hoping it fixes it for good.

Please explain in detail what you did. Note, you're not supposed to mess with the config editor if you don't know what you're doing.

Now I can not open it at all.

Please explain in detail

  • what you're doing
  • what happens
  • what you expect to happen

How do you determine it's crashing? Please provide a crash ID. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/mozilla-crash-reporter-tb#w_viewing-crash-reports

First I did know what I was doing with the editor, that is why it was so strange that it completely crashed, I changed one network protocol that was false that should have been true. I deleted Thunderbird through the programs delete console, restarted my computer and tried to reload it new. Crashed uponselection. I would not even get the startup page. I was able to go back to my last restore point in Windows which was about a week ago. I am now able to use Tbird again without issues. I can't provide a crash ID report because I could not get anything regards to Thunderbird working.

So what makes you think it crashed?

Because when I tried to open it the thunderbird crash report window came up and told me it had crashed and a crash report was sent to Thunderbird. By the way after doing the retore point backup everything came back up fine. Thanks for all the responses.
