I want to be able to use keyboard shortcuts to insert words or phrases into the body of my email. Ex.: "Good Morning,".

Until installing a Thunderbird update this morning, I was able to do this using the Quicktext add-on. Although Quicktext is enabled, I cannot get it to work.

Chosen solution

Quick Text seems to need an update to work with V45.

Several people use Clippings instead and it has good reviews. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/clippings/?src=search

Thanks. Clippings is a little clunkier to use than Quick Text was, but it still saves a lot of time.
