I deleted folders from email on my tablet and this deleted them on my desktop, is there anyway to recover deleted folders?

Classic finger trouble I'm afraid. I deleted the folders in my name that reside on my wife's tablet (she uses the same email address as me) .I thought that they would just remove them from her tablet but they also removed them from my desktop account. Looks catastrophic but if anybody has a way of recovering accidentally deleted folders that would be much appreciated.
