Selected the option to mark the messages as read when opened. With 45.0, this option no longer works. CAUSE: RRbuttonandIcon Add-on
Until now the Thunderbird's option to mark the messages as read once opened worked fine. With the 45.0 version all the messages remain marked as "not read", despite the option "mark messages as read once opened" is checked. My os is Windows 10 64bit. Thank you in advance.

I've found out the guilty add-on. It's an old add-on: RRbuttonandIcon (https://nic-nac-project.org/~kaosmos/index-en.html). I uninstalled it. I used this add-on to get a button and icon for return request receipt. Thank you for your courtesy, Wayne.

I'm turning off one by one the installed add-ons. I'll let you know what is creating problems.
