When I open thunderbird new emails pop up, but once i have it opened no new emails come thru until i close thunderbird and reopen it. The emails load perfectly on my phone but not on to the computer till i close and reopen thunderbird. I can't seem to find any solution. Reinstalled thunderbird, still having the same problem. I press "get new messages" no new emails come thru, untill i close and reopen.

Is your email provider a company called GoDaddy? There have been many reports here recently of exactly this problem with that provider. If it is, as an experiment could you try the following? - Stop your phone and any other devices from checking the account for, say, one day - For that day, stop Thunderbird from checking the account automatically - For that day, check for new mails manually in Thunderbird not more than, say, once an hour I suggest those steps because this problem with GoDaddy is widely reported on line with various email clients (Thunderbird, Outlook, Apple Mail) and there is a suggestion that it happens when too many checks for new mail are being made too frequently. If there is any improvement, please report back!

You may have misunderstood my post. I didn't suggest that you should reinstall Thunderbird, because reinstalling Thunderbird won't help you. As far as we can tell from posts in this forum, the problem is with the email provider rather than with Thunderbird. I have re-read my earlier post and I cannot see how to make my suggestions clearer, so -- with regret -- I'm unable to offer you further assistance.

I spoke to GODADDY and they said the server is working..it's thunderbird which is not syncing with the server

There is a problem and it doesn't only effect Thunderbird. Godaddy is not exactly helpful and never has been when needing to fix issues that are not related to their webmail. People are still trying to work out what is going on.

Thunderbird is accessing the server, but the new emails are not being synched. Please go int Offline mode and then switch back to online mode to force a synch.
