Can I run Live Mail and Thunderbird on same computer
My wife and I use Live Mail. It works fine on my laptop but my account has problems sometimes on the desktop. Can I run Firefox on the desktop as well as Live Mail until I feel confident about using Thunderbird. I leave messages on the server for 16 days.
Thanks

If you have a setting to 'leave messages on the server' then I assume this is a POP mail account. If so, then yes you can have more than one email client program: they should both access the same POP server (though not at the same time) and copy mail from the Inbox while leaving the messages in place. Be aware though that POP mail only supports the Inbox. So if you send a message from Thunderbird you won't have a copy of it in your Live Mail account, though Thunderbird will keep a copy if you want it. If you have an IMAP account that limitation doesn't apply: all the folders should appear and be synchronised in all the email clients you use.

Thank you for your prompt reply. I feel much better about trying to slowly easing out of Live Mail into Thunderbird. It will also facilitate upgrading to Windows 10 should I decide to do so.
That's no problem, it may well help if you are not used to Thunderbird.
