Firefox appears to default to a proxy server which is a bogon based in the Netherlands, when it should be Surabaya in Indonesia.

I can manually overide it by going into the advanced settings and choose the 'No Proxy' option but this does not solve the problem as every time I open Firefox it defaults to the proxy server. I have already attempted to delete this malware using Farbar Recovery Scan Tool, but I have been unsuccessful. From the advanced settings the details of the proxy server are listed as such: HTTP Proxy: 127.0.0.1 Port: 49736 Also listed in the 'No Proxy for': localhost, localdomain, .localdomain, local, .local, 127.0.0.1, 10.0.0.0/8, 172.16.0.0/12, 192.168.0.0/16, www.google-analytics.com

Could you please investigate and hopefully offer a solution as my computer is being hijacked. I have already received messages from Google regarding unusual traffic eminating from this server and my IP address.

I may have found an answer to my own problem. It seems there is a VPN extension on Moziila called - Browsec. After disabling this and removing the extension the server now reverts to a local server in Surabaya. I no longer need to go into the advance settings and selecting the 'No proxy' option.
