Thunderbird version 38.7.0 broke images in emails, I just get a list of URLs

In the last 2-3 days, all my incoming emails are missing their graphics. Instead, I get some lines of plain text, surrounded by one URL after another.

How can I get the normal emails back with their layouts and images?

Chosen solution

Please check that you have View > Message Body As > Original HTML selected (not view as Plain Text). If that doesn't cure it could you post a screenshot please?

Thanks. I stumbled on this just now by going through every menu item and seeing what it did.

So glad to have HTML back!
