Thunderbird is freezing up and unable to select inbox and other folders from the LHS menu

I think there was a Thunderbird software update and ever since I have been unable to select folders including the inbox folder from the LHS menu column. I have un-installed and re-installed software with no luck. If unable to fix I will need to look for another Email app.

Hold the shift key when starting Thunderbird and continue in safe mode when promoted. On the toolbar then  Add-ons in the add-ons tab remove lightning. restart Thunderbird On the toolbar then  Add-ons add lightning.

Hopefully all your issues will be gone.

Thanks Matt, looks like its fixed the problem. Thank you
