I deleted the cache by ctrl-shift-del, but in the Local/../profile/.../ folder there is a folder left named Cache.Trash27838 the same size than the Cache folder was before (almost a gigabyte).

It stays even after exiting (and starting) TB multiple times, even restarted the PC.

The new Cache folder has items in it (subfolders etc.).

Is it safe to delete the Cache.Trash27838 folder? Why does it stay? Is this a bug?

I was wondering myself so I renamed my profile in ...\local\thunderbird\profiles. Next time I started T-bird all subdirectories where rebuild.

I have no idea why that old one was kept. Check date on it.
