After upgrading to version 38.6.0 today, Thunderbird no longer displays any email from inbox, trash, sent boxes and nothing else works.

I upgraded Thunderbird to version 38.6.0 today. After reopening Thunderbird, nothing works and none of the emails in my inbox, sent and trash boxes are there. I've checked my profile and the files are there. I've gone into the settings and tried rebuilding the folder. I've tried to do a new email and that doesn't work. How do I fix this?

So we have an issue with an add-on. I consider that a good start on something to do.

On the toolbar then  Add-ons and disable first lightning if you have it. then all add-ons of disabling Lightning does not fix the issue

hold shift while opening Thunderbird and continue in safe mode when prompted.

Does it work better?

It works right in safe mode. But I shouldn't have to open it in safe mode every time I want to look at my email. Is there anything else that can be done.
