suspicious website opens automatically in a new tab without permission/prompting. makes my mobile vibrate nonstop & don't have a way to close it except to close firefox. how do i resolve this issue? need reply asap :C

You can try Addblock Plus.You can download it from addons manager. It can stop those website opens automatically. Download Addblock Plus Firefox for Android Download Addblock Plus if you use Firefox for Desktop. Or, You can download from Addblock Plus official website.

Have you use Addblock plus? I hope that it happens for adds that comes from your visited websites. Addblock plus will blocked those adds and you can browse comfortably.

Also, could you check for any unknown, suspicious, or nonessential add-ons already installed in your Firefox for Android. This article describes how to view and remove add-ons: Uninstall Firefox for Android extensions.

And if you haven't already installed a security app on your device, there are several that can scan for malware. For example:

i haven't installed any add-ons before and i do have cm security working. this problem happens to the browser i set as default. before with chrome, now with firefox. guess it's with the websites i visit... thanks for response!

Or... some other app on your phone sending a link to your default browser. Hopefully you can tame it.

i haven't thought of that, but sometimes if i couldn't close it fast enough they proceed to open play store too. most of the time tho they just say something like my device is compromised or there's a new update i need to install?
