last night, I opened firefox and it unexpectedly opened two windows and within seconds crashed, and now crashes every time I open it (even in safe mode and after attempting the "Refresh firefox" option, additionally the top bar (where web addresses or searches are entered) does not function. I have completely uninstalled firefox and reinstalled it to the most current version and it still does not work properly, I followed all of the help steps on the support site to the best of my abilities (I can't do several of them because the browser freezes too quickly for me to try) and none fixed my problem, for now I'm stuck using other browsers, please help

Just an Update for anyone having similar issues- I went into file explorer and had to delete EVERY file associated with firefox- search "firefox" while in the "this computer" section (or whatever equivalent you have) and it solved the problem. I lost all my saved information (trying to transfer it to other browsers failed) but it is working again.

What is your computer system and Firefox?

Do you have the Firefox icon on your quick launch? Close Firefox. Right click on the icon and select Open New Window. Sometimes this works. If it opens, close it by Menu > File > Exit.

Its a windows 10 computer running a 32 bit firefox

That didn't seem to help with anything. additionally the program doesn't quit unless I go into task manager and force close it, or wait several minutes for the crash reporter to appear. Its eating up quite a bit of my CPU, even in safe mode

That was very good work. Well Done.
