I reinstalled tb but the mail and news accounts are missing.

TB did an upgrade and when it started i only had a "home" tab and a window titled welcome to thunderbird and asking if iI would like a new email address? I have a backup profile . i have un and reinstalled several times the address book is there and the email folders are there. The trouble shooter show no email or news accounts. It does show a crash report from 2012.
