I am trying to downlaod Firefox to my Vista desktop with IE9. It will not let me dowload - it blocks it, whether I select "run" or "save". I get a message in the "information bar" that: "[the program] contains a virus and was deleted" How can I get around thsi and download FireFox ? By the way, my machine meets all of the sytem requirments

Try the full setup for Windows from www.mozilla.org/firefox/all
Some antivirus clients still occasionally have an issue with the small stub installer served to Windows users on www.mozilla.org even though it has existed since Firefox 18.0 and is always clean.
Also since you have Windows Vista you may still be getting served 43.0.1 as 43.0.2 and newer setups .exe are signed in a way that many WinXP and Vista users cannot run. You can then update to 44.0
Thanks for you help.
Unforntualtly, I had already tried www.mozilla.org/firefox/all numeroeus times, selecting English and Windows (not the 64-bit). I had also tried the other way. Both have the same result. BTW: the download is tryng to use version Fire Fox Setup 43.0.1. exe.
Th message seems to be coming from Internet Exporer (9), not from McAfee. The "shield" on the "information bar" looks similar to McAfee, but is a white X in a red shield of adifferent shape.
Any other ideas ?
Thanks
I don't know what happened with yeserday's post (see above), but some of it is missing.
It should read: Thanks for you help. Unforntualtly, I had already tried www.mozilla.org/firefox/all a few times, selecting the language (English) and the Windows (NOT 64-bit) download. I also tried it the other way (Mozilla.org) and got the same results - unable to download. The message in the "information bar" is "Fire Fox Setup 43.0.1.exe contained a virus and was deleted". The mesage is preceded by a red shield with a white X inside. It looks almost like the McAfee shield, but is a different shape. Th message seems to be coming from Internet Exporer (9), not from McAfee.
Any other ideas ?
Now, today I would like to add that it seems like I would be able to download both Chrome and Lunascape - I have not allowed the downloads to finish, becasue I would really prefer FireFox and am still hoping for a solution
Again, any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Bernie
