Hi,

When I open an e-mail in Thunderbird the body text of the e-mail does not match the sender's details and subject line - for instance I might get an e-mail that looks like it's from work, but the body will say something like "take care, now. Hugs and kisses, Mummy" (this is definitely not from my boss). The message pane also displays the wrong text/sender mismatch.

Has anyone any idea how I can set this right, please? Should I just install Thunderbird again (I've been afraid to do this, in case it makes the problem permanent)?

The problem started yesterday, btw. I thought it only affected a couple of messages, but today all of them are affected. I noticed it being more widespread today after I performed a sort - could this be the cause of the problem? Can't remember if I did any sorts yesterday.

Thanks,

Joyce

Right click the problem folder and select Properties. Then Repair Folder. Be prepared to lose messages if the corruption is too bad.

Then read this article to help prevent in the future.

Thank you very much, Airmail! Worked a treat - I lost a lot of messages on one folder, so the problem must have been pretty bad. Thanks for the link, too; it's very informative. I think it must've been because I had too many e-mails on the folder. I really can't see that it was a virus (I hope not, anyway) because I cleaned my computer only a few days ago and installed AVG free in favour of my old AV. Best, Joyce
