Ok the image you posted about the same time I answered seems to show the menu buttons you claim to be missing.
As for the AppMenu button, right click the Mail toolbar and select Customize. Find the button and drag it back into place.

The shortcut for displaying a hidden Menu Bar is the alt key or F10. From the Menu Bar select View-Toolbars and turn the missing toolbars back on.
Also the stacked menu icon disappeared.
No changes were initiated by wBill.... Although have been running into many problems from Microsoft updates preparing my windows 7 64 bit computer for ver 10 $%%^$#$%#%

To Airmail.. I think you were looking at an screen shot of an example not mine...
But the good news is that they have reappeared in a different location.
And as you instructed I just dragged the app box up an dumped it where it would stick.
All I want is to get cutting now.
Thanks for your help I'm going back to my email and click solved... Bye wBill
These buttons do not work. When can they be deployed?? ALT and F10 do not work for me. George

You laid out a path as to how to repair the missing menu, but I'm missing the "Tool Bars" portion of the path. This item is not listed on my ThunderBIRD's "View". Another problem is that a diagram should be issued of Thunderbird's opening page describing the syntax of each component. Maybe the loss of my question, "How can I re-install the menu bar for the message screen "Reply, Forward, Archive, Junk, More."? A reply was sent that Alt or F10 will work. Not for me! When should these keys be employed? I was in Thunderbird at the opening page and after trying the "short-cuts", nothing happened. I tried the manual approach and that failed as noted earlier concerning the missing step. So, with hat in hand, I'm requesting maybe a third fix?

Thank you!
A "map" of Thunderbird's opening page could show the terminology of each component so that we are all on the same page. I'm sure my question would have less key strokes as well as the reply. Let me ask, what do you call the tool bar in the message screen?
It took me awhile to figure out what the "To Day" pane included.
Have a great day, people! George
