Why are all my folder titles in Thunderbird greyed out, in italics and (mostly) empty?

I've been using Thunderbird on my new Windows 10 PC and all has been fine for the first 24 hours.

Don't know why, but suddenly most of the folder names (except the Inbox, Deleted Items and one custom folder I created) have turned grey and italicized. All of them except these three also appear empty. This applies to my subfolders too.

Having checked on my IMAP server (via my domain provider - Fasthosts) via the web, all the messages are still present and correct in their folders - I just can't see them in Thunderbird.

Can you advise how to fix my problem?

Thanks

Start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode Does problem go away? Shut down THunderbird, and start normally. Is problem still gone?

If it is not still gone, Start thunderbird in safe mode - http://support.mozillamessaging.com/en-US/kb/safe-mode *Remove* the calendar/lightning addon Does problem go away?

Here is the screenshot of my Thunderbird home page. You can hopefully see all the greyed out folders.

Thanks for any help you can offer.
